Poem: Battle for Friendship

This is a poem I wrote for my English 3 class. I was supposed to write about an event that closely hurt or effected me. This is about the time I almost lost one of my good friends jut because of some miscommunication.

Battle for Friendship

Burn she says,

To me I thought murder.

Concern for amigo,

I break the news.

And like a wave,

 Sweeping over me,

It overtook my whole life,

In only a blink of an eye.

Depressing, dark and tortuous days,

Of endless tears,

Of hurt, rejection and shame,

That overflowed beyond capacity.

“Gossip, liar and two face,” they say,

“We don’t want her influencing our daughter.

Forbidden is she,

To never talk to her again.”

Endless nights of discussion overflowing with pain,

The long essay letters arguing who was right.

“Enough!” I say. “I need a meeting,

I can’t go on living with depression.”

It was decided then,

That a meeting was best.

Everyone met to discuss

The concern I had established.

Everyone had a confession,

And a reason for my decision,

But weakened by rejection,

I couldn’t handle their reconciliation.

I broke down under the weight of misery.

The tears overflowed and suddenly,

A relief overcame me,

Like a heavy burden lifted by wings.

For friendship had been reunited,

And every accusation was forgiven.

I was given favor,

For I was no longer a liar!

Call unto him

Everyone deserves hell, but God sent his special son down to save us from our sin. (john 3:16) All we need to do is confess in him and he shall save us. This is God's special gift. Call unto him and he will give it unto you.He is willing to give this to anyone, but he wont give it you unless, YOU want it. He loves you and wants what is best for you. He is waiting for you to call unto him and he will give you the gift of salvation. God does not want you to go to hell, but you need to call unto God for him to save you and make you worthy to go to Heaven. Reach out to God now. You dont seserve hell. God has a better plan for you in a better place.

6 Convessions

So on facebook I decided to do the like my status for confessions. I recorded 6 of the ones that I chose so here they are.

Confession 1: I have been in a car accident before

Confession 2: I have double jointed elbows or I should say over extended.

Confession 3: I can touch my nose with my tongue but I cant touch my tongue to my elbow despite my double jointedness.

Confession 4: I have gotten a concussion before. But all I did was hit a stair railing. (lasted for about a week)

Confession 5: My mom had just trimmed my bangs. I looked into a shiny metal bed post and it looked crooked to me and I thought she didnt do a good enough job. So i decided to fix the job my mom had done. Mind you this was a round post so the image was distorted. I thought it looked great. Turns out I had made a big gash in the bangs and they were ruined right before we were going to have our pictures taken for a family photo. I was forbidded to use scissors for a while and I never cut my hair by myself again till now XD.

Confession 6: I think pasta and chocolate taste good together. (everything tastes good with chocolate, right?)

Are they interesting? Guess you would have never know that about me right? ;)

Fingers of Love

It was a quiet night in Jerusalem in the year of 35 A.D. and Aaron, son of John closed his eyelids and leaned down on the side of his cot.  He stretched his neck toward heaven and uttered a silent prayer.  “Heavenly Father,” he said.  “I am coming to you today with a heavy heart.  My wife and children are ill with leprosy and none of the doctors can cure it. I am weak and I am tired of struggling against you and trying to heal them myself.  Forgive me, Father for not trusting you. I lift my wife and children up to You and surrender their lives to you.” Aaron wipes a tear from his face, and continues. “I know it means that they could possibly die. I am here though, trusting you to heal them the way you want to, even if it means them dying and then being relieved of this sickness.  Thank you, Heavenly Father for being here and loving me. Please, heal my family.  I love you.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

Aaron finished his prayer, stood up, and walked over to the door of his house. His ees gazed out over the town of Jerusalem.  Gazing at the stars he leaned against the door frame and rested his eyes. He felt conten,t and a peace he had never felt before filled his soul.  Suddenly, he realized one of the stars was getting brighter and closer to him until it formed an image of a glowing, bright, and holy man standing in front of him.  He had the most loving eyes and warmth that surrounded Aaron.  Aaron’s knees quivered as he said “Jesus, is that you?”

“It is I,” Jesus said in the softest and most loving voice Aaron had ever heard. “I have come unto my son, because he called unto me.  Your family is healed.  I love you my wonderful son.”

Crying Aaron ran up to Jesus and He embraced him in a warm hug.  Aaron did not want to let go, and Jesus rubbed Aaron’s head which gave Aaron goose bumps.  Jesus stepped away from Aaron and said, “Continue loving and trusting in me.  I will never forsake my children.” And as suddenly as Jesus had come, He left.  Aaron whispered, “Always, my Father, always.”

Aaron fell down into the dusty streets and wept until he suddenly remembered  his family.  He got up and ran into the mud house and ran to his wife’s bedside.  He gazed at her beautiful face.  It was spot-free and the leprosy had left her; not a scar covered her body.  Aaron leaned his face onto her chest and wept, saying, “Thank you, Father!” over and over.  Feeling a finger brush his tears from his face he turned his face towards his wife and she smiled at him. “Aaron,” she said, “In my dream, fingers reached out and touched my leprosy.  They were the most loving fingers and they gave me warmth that surrounded my body and suddenly I looked at myself and I was healed.”   She was crying by now.  “Aaron I am healed. Jesus came into my room and healed me from leprosy.  Praise Jesus!”

“Elizabeth, that’s wonderful!”  Aaron said.  “I prayed unto God and He sent Jesus down here and He said you were healed, and then He said to never stop trusting in Him.”

“Yes,” Elizabeth said. “Never forsake your Father.  He is here for you.  Just call unto Him and He will grant your wish if He sees fit.”

Drawing

I drew a drawing I drew the other night. I copied a picture that my cousin drew. I loved the picture she drew and this is my representation of her picture. Below is hers.
Here is what I drew. Its not half as good and I didnt color it, but I still love my picture.
Thanks for looking... Love, Emily

Poem I composed when I heard about Lane Goodwin

It is dark, scary, horrifying,
Painful and depressing.
The endless hours to keep the body strong.
The endless prayers,
Praying,
Praying for a miracle.
Frustration and all hope is lost,
But then the light flickers in the distance.
The tunnel might have an end,
Pushing forward he tries to stay strong.
Then one night tension is in the air,
Heavy breathing and exasperation,
But a peace felt never before,
Overcomes the room.
Then suddenly,
He’s gone,
Like angel wings,
That picked him off to his destination.
And the tears flood,
Like never before,
But God comforts their hearts,
For he is
Now
Cancer
Free.

In memory of Lane Goodwin
